Treatment of dental cavities is one of the most common dental procedures and aims to stop tooth destruction and prevent complications. Tooth decay occurs when bacteria in the oral cavity attack the enamel and dentin, leading to cavities, sensitivity and, in advanced stages, pain or infection.
At our clinic, we treat cavities using modern technologies, such as dental rubber dam isolation and high-precision instruments, for lasting results and maximum patient comfort.
How is dental decay treated?
Identification of decay is done through clinical examination and, if necessary, digital radiography. The earlier the diagnosis, the simpler and more conservative the treatment.
For safe and quality treatment, we use a dental rubber dam, a special membrane that isolates the tooth from the rest of the oral cavity. This:
- keeps the tooth completely dry (necessary for perfect adhesion),
- reduces the risk of bacterial contamination,
- protects the patient from accidentally swallowing the instruments,
- increases comfort during the procedure.
The tooth decay is removed with rotary instruments or, in some cases, with minimally invasive technologies such as the dental laser.
The area is cleaned and disinfected to eliminate bacteria and prevent the cavity from recurring.
The tooth is restored with modern composite materials, which perfectly reproduce the natural color and shape. The restoration is adapted for correct function and impeccable aesthetics.
If any symptoms appear, a dental consultation is recommended as soon as possible.
What is the treatment of tooth decay?
At our clinic, we focus on:
Tooth decay treatment is the process by which the doctor removes the affected tissue and reconstructs the tooth with an aesthetic and resistant material. By intervening in a timely manner, as much of the natural structure of the tooth is preserved as possible and the need for more complex treatments, such as root canal treatments, is prevented.
